Dr. Naidoo says that eating certain “brain-boosting foods” will help reduce your risk of neurological problems, strengthen your mental well-being, and help keep you alert. These include things from spinach and kale to a variety of nuts. But there’s one that stands out: blueberries, which are exceptionally beneficial for helping your aging brain, says Naidoo. She says you should eat at least 0.5 cups a day, and frozen ones work as long as they don’t have added sugar, juices, or preservatives.
