Required Ingredients- 1 cup yellow moong dal, 1 onion, 1 bell pepper, 1 tomato, 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, ¼ teaspoon asafetida, ¼ teaspoon oeno, ¼ teaspoon turmeric, 2 cloves garlic, 1 green chili, 2 tablespoons of rice flour, ½ teaspoon of coriander powder, ½ teaspoon of garam masala and salt to taste.

Method-

  • Wash the moong dal well and let it soak for about 30 minutes.
  • Drain the water and add dal to a blender.
  • Add the garlic cloves and green chili to the blender and blend well until a smooth paste forms.
  • Scoop out the moong dal paste into a bowl. Add salt to taste along with the finely chopped onion, bell pepper, tomato and coriander leaves.
  • Add all the other ingredients like asafetida, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, eno, and rice flour.
  • If the batter seems too thick, add ¼ cup of water. Mix well and let stand for 10-15 minutes.
  • Now just heat a non-stick pan, brush a little oil and pour in 1-2 ladles of batter.
  • Roll out to form a cheela and cook on both sides until golden brown.
