According to the India Today report, a health ministry official said that we are confident in the accuracy of the test conducted in the private laboratory.

The Karnataka health department on Monday said no case of HMPV has been reported in the state. The discovery of the suspected case raised concerns, but health officials stressed that it could only be confirmed when results from other laboratories were received.
What is HMPV?
Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a respiratory virus that usually causes mild flu-like symptoms. This virus spreads most quickly in winter and early spring. It is transmitted from person to person through coughing, sneezing, dirty surfaces, this flu spreads quickly through the infected person. Common symptoms include cough, fever, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and in some cases, wheezing or difficulty breathing.
