“Ensure healthy and nutritious food at home and at school. Select healthy foods only when ordering or eating out. Plan physical activities when outdoors like walks, etc. with your child and appreciate each of their achievements no matter how small they may seem. Avoid using phrases like ‘why can’t you exercise’ or ‘if you eat less you can lose some weight’, etc.” says Dr Ramen Goel, Consultant Bariatric Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospital, Central Mumbai.
