I Tasted 7 Microwavable Oatmeals, and This Was My Favorite — Eat This Not That

Oatmeal it is full of nutrients that provide many health benefits for your body. It’s so healthy that it’s worth considering adding to your diet. daily diet. It’s also very versatile: you can add a bunch of your favorites, healthy ingredients to create a heartier bowl. Oatmeal is also an easy and convenient way to eat.

Food companies have not only tried making their own oatmeal, they’ve also found easier ways to fit a serving into your eating routine. The easiest might be microwavable individual cups that can be quickly heated with water or Milk. Of course, I had to do some research.

I decided to try seven cups of microwaveable oatmeal that I found on store shelves. They had to be distributed in single-serving microwave-safe containers. There are no big containers of oatmeal, no boxes full of packets that you pour yourself. Simply easy, a full serving of oatmeal that you heat with water in the microwave.

Nature’s Promise is a family brand of Stop & Shop. It is a brand known for its affordable yet organic take food products. From meat to fruit to bread, this brand is in it all. SupermarketAnd they are usually very good. With that being said, their microwave oatmeal fell very flat.

With just 4 grams of sugar, 7 grams of protein, and 4 grams of dietary fiber, there’s no question that this oatmeal is good for you. However, I couldn’t get over the consistency and flavor of this brand.

Once I got it out of the microwave, it looked promising. A cup of fluffy oatmeal. However, taking a bite out of it was quite the opposite. It was sticky, sticking to the roof of my mouth and behind my teeth when I tried to chew it. The fluffy look that appeared turned out to be just dense. At one point, I turned the container upside down to see if the oats fell out. (Spoiler alert, it didn’t go down.) The taste was also very mild. I know oatmeal doesn’t have much flavor. But if you’re promoting a healthy breakfast, make it exciting!

Honestly, I had never heard of this brand until I set foot on CVS looking for oatmeal East CVS snack line was introduced featuring more than 40 food products that claimed to be free of artificial flavors and preservatives. The oatmeal lived up to that motto, as it had no preservatives, no flavors, and no sweetenersand no high fructose corn syrup.

Since I’ve never heard of this brand before (or, frankly, never paid attention to CVS brands), I didn’t have high expectations for this oatmeal.

However, it was not oatmeal with a terrible taste. I was pleasantly surprised that I could turn to CVS for more than just brand name products. Overall, the consistency wasn’t too controversial (because let’s face it, the texture of oatmeal can be weird) and the flavor was decent.

My biggest dilemma was that the oatmeal was supposed to be flavored. The flavors were microscopic. If you’re going to try to disguise the oatmeal, make sure we’re testing the other ingredients.

Quaker OatmealQuaker Oatmeal

A beloved and well-known saved, quaker oatmeal it has been around since 1877. They have done something right, because they are still producing an incredible amount of oatmeal and other products. Before this taste test, if you told me to name any oats, I could only say “Quaker Oats.” There was simply no other option. From rice cakes to the cookies, I can easily say that I have enjoyed your products.

Now to the reason they ranked so low on my list. Maybe it was just the microwave single serve version, but I was pretty disappointed. I followed the directions on the package, however the oatmeal came out a bit thick. Because of this, the oatmeal felt mushy. To me, this was something you would give more to a baby than an adult. The flavor was there, which was important, but the breakfast overall was lacking.

Stop & Shop redeems itself with its own brand of oatmeal. This supermarket chain has many brands, including one of their family brands that also sells oatmeal, so it was very surprising that they decided to create their own. For the record, I’m glad they did, because this was much better than Nature’s Promise (sorry!).

This naturally flavored oatmeal consisted of a bunch of cinnamon and apple flavors, which worked quite well to mask the fact that I was actually eating oatmeal. I will say that the apple flavor was somewhat off, the texture of the incorporated fruit seemed smooth to me. Cinnamon dominated the dish by far. However, the consistency was nice, the flavor was good, and it was healthy. Generally, well rounded oatmeal.

McCann's Oatmeal McCann's Oatmeal

Completing my top 3 is McCann’s. At first, he had no idea what “Irish” porridge meant. Was it imported from Ireland? Do I have to buy a pint of guinness with that? For the record, I wouldn’t be against that. But instead of guessing, I decided to look it up. it turns out that for irish porridgeRather than rolling the whole grains of various cereals, the grains undergo a steel-cutting process. Regular oats, after being minced, are steamed, rolled, flattened and dried, making them “more processed” and changing their original shape to flakes, unlike Irish oats, which in most of them keep the same shape.

Not sure if that made a total difference in the taste of the oatmeal, but I will say that I enjoyed eating this oatmeal and would easily eat it again. The taste of the oatmeal was quite delicious, minus the uneven taste of brown sugar that appeared from time to time, so it was too sweet and intense. But the oatmeal was well cooked and the texture was nice. Not too chewy or too runny. It was a nice dish.

Kodiak Oatmeal CakeKodiak Oatmeal Cake

Kodiak Cakes is known for its packed with protein foods And the company always hits the spot when combining protein and flavor. This particular oatmeal had 14 grams of protein, allowing me to easily reach my daily protein goal. I also tried the chocolate chips version, which is very unique in my opinion. It’s not often that you see chocolate chips in microwaveable oatmeal.

Be careful! Eating these things will cause premature wrinkles to appear under the eyes and on the head

It sounded so delicious that I decided to eat it as a dessert. It was worth it. Imagine a chocolate muffin or a chocolate lava cake, only healthier. made of 100% whole grainsIt also contained less sugar than some of the other oats I tried. I would seriously consider swapping my desserts for this oatmeal.

The reason Kodiak Cakes won the silver medal is because I didn’t find oatmeal easy to microwave. I followed the instructions carefully; he filled the container with water to his specific measurements, stirred it, and microwaved it for the appropriate amount of time. The first time I took the oats out, they were still very runny and the oats did not cook well. Then I put it back in the microwave. This time, it was a little better, but the oatmeal was still hard. I popped it in one more time, and oatmeal exploded all over my microwave. Don’t worry, I saved it, but I’d appreciate less hassle next time.

I had never heard of this brand, so it is clear that I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. So pleasantly surprised that I ranked it as the best oatmeal. This brand was acquired by PepsiCo and is known for making healthy foods using grains and seeds. Grains and seeds will also be the first ingredients you’ll see in each of their products. Specifically for their oatmeal, I thought it was a great idea to incorporate nuts and seeds into it. It really goes to show that you can add whatever you want to oatmeal and make it amazing.

With 10 grams of vegetal proteinEnjoy it sunflower seedsPumpkin seeds, walnutsflax seeds and chia seeds in every bite. He was not only tasty, but he felt that he was eating very healthy with every spoonful. I also enjoyed the difference in texture between this oatmeal and the others. The texture of the seeds broke up what is a typical bland bowl of oatmeal. My mouth was able to explore different flavors and textures throughout the meal. I’m so glad I got to try all of these oats because if I had never done the taste test, I never would have known about this brand!
