Sleeping during the day can make you blind

According to a Bloomberg report, long-term problems with sleeplessness and snoring during the day increase the risk of glaucoma, ie black cataract. If this disease is not treated at the right time, then this condition can become so serious that there is also a risk of blindness i.e. blindness. According to a research published in the BMJ Open Journal, if the eyesight is lost due to glaucoma, then it does not return again. Researchers have told that people of any age can get glaucoma if they do not get enough sleep at night. This problem is common in the elderly and smokers.

The study, conducted by the Biobank of Britain, assessed and analyzed the data of more than 4 lakh people aged between 40 and 69 years. The people included in this study were asked about their sleeping habits. In this study, which ran from 2010 to 2021, glaucoma has been found in about 8,690 people. Based on the data, the researchers found that the risk of glaucoma increased by 11 percent in people who were sleepy and snoring during the day compared to people who got plenty of sleep. At the same time, this risk increases to 13 percent in people with insomnia and short or long sleep. According to researchers, by the year 2040, about 112 million people worldwide could be affected by glaucoma.
