DAVID Beckham made a name for himself playing football, which understandably helped him stay in great shape.

But after retiring from the game, it was still key for the 47-year-old to maintain the physique he had built throughout his career.

This exclusive training is called DB45 and allows those who participate to train like Becks.

The 59-year-old PT said: “DB45 combines exercises that David used in training throughout his career.

“The training incorporates explosive, power-focused, multi-directional exercises.”

Training focuses on typical soccer positions, from defense to attack.

Gunnar explained, “Station one is always a cardio machine. Station two through station five will include functional exercises. In the middle of the field you’ll see multi-directional cardio and agility exercises.

“The exercises in Stations Six – Stations Nine will challenge even the fittest limbs by moving them forward, backward, side to side, on the ground and off the ground.

“Stations ten and 11 are attacking positions with a greater emphasis on staying agile.”

Alternating times between 32 seconds of work, 15 seconds of rest, and 23 seconds of work, followed by another 20 seconds of rest.

Then you complete the ultimate finisher, with 7 x 30 seconds of bodyweight exercises.

BEND LIKE BECKS

In creating the program, Gunnar said many features of the soccer field were linked.

He explained: “The format mimics a 4:4:2 football formation, with stations representing typical football positions such as goalkeeper, defender, midfield and attack.

“The schedule will reflect the style of training that corresponds to these positions.

“There are also certain aspects that highlight David’s career, for example: practice times reflect shirt numbers throughout his iconic career.”

However, Gunnar added that David’s physique is not just reduced to F45.

“F45 is a new style of training that has been introduced to him that he really enjoys and believes in.

“F45 really is designed for everyone, from the fittest athletes to regular members.

“Programming and training design always include regressions or progressions to challenge members at the right level,” he said.
