India Records First Monkeypox Death in Kerala

The next day he went out to play soccer with his friends. On July 27 he collapsed and was taken to a local clinic and from there he was transferred to a hospital, where he was under treatment and passed away on Sunday.

Health officials are also looking into whether any information was withheld. State Finance Minister K. Rajan, a native of Trissur, said 21 people have so far been identified as primary contacts and have been isolated.

“So far, there have been no reports of any primary contact having any problems. However, health officials are not leaving anything to chance and there is a high alert,” Rajan said.
