Resistance workouts are a brilliant way to stay fit at home, but hiding all of your home gym equipment once you’re done with your session can be a bit tricky. Fitness equipment retailer Decathlon aims to solve this problem with its latest innovation, the invisible fitness room, which hides all your fitness equipment out of sight.
Recently revealed at Decathlon’s aptly named reveal innovation (opens in a new tab) event (links to event page), the Domyos Invisible Fitness Room (Domyos is Decathlon’s own fitness brand) consists of a fitness mat, weights and a gym ball that can now be stylishly and discreetly integrated into the inside your living room. Watch the video below to see how the system works:
As you can see, the Invisible Fitness Room is not designed for people who prefer heavy lifting; it is more suitable for cardio and core exercises that can be done in 10 minutes. ‘What’s the point, then?’ you may ask, and we’d answer by saying that the invisible fitness room removes the barrier that prevents you from getting in a quick workout, i.e. setting up the training space.
By allowing you to keep your gym equipment outdoors, the Decathlon system allows you to lift the weights and get in a quick ab workout in the middle of the day. No need to take the mat out of the closet; it’s already there Invisible Fitness Room makes home workouts more convenient than using adjustable dumbbells either resistance bands. However, resistance bands can be easily added to the mix, if you prefer to use them.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed by Decathlon, but considering the retailer isn’t known for sky-high prices, we can safely assume the Invisible Fitness Room will be affordable enough. Availability will be at the beginning of the SS23 season, probably in late March or early April 2023.
