There’s a nice nip in the air and for me, along with the delightful thought that I can slip back into my fall knitwear, there’s another tantalizing seasonal treat: it’s time to get back on the run. We are entering the start of the athletics season, starting today with the London Marathon (something that, even as a spectator, has the ability to bring tears to my eyes), the Yorkshire Marathon in a couple of weeks, and next month the great event that I have done, the New York marathon.
This would have made my PE teacher laugh, since I was the girl who was constantly sneaking out of game lessons with ever more elaborate excuses. However, when I was twenty-five years old I decided to sign up for a 5k to
