Kāhi Mōhala facility to be acquired by Queen’s Health System

The Queen’s Health System is acquiring the Kāhi Mōhala psychiatric hospital in ʻEwa Beach, Oʻahu. It is currently owned by Sutter Health, based in Northern California.

It is the only “independent, not-for-profit” inpatient residential behavioral health program in the state.

Kāhi Mōhala has 88 beds and offers acute care and residential services for children and adolescents. It also offers partial hospitalization for adults.

The hospital is approximately 1 mile from Queen’s Medical Center West Oʻahu.

The transition to Queen’s is scheduled for December. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Queen’s said in a statement that it intends to offer jobs to all 250 Kāhi Mōhala employees.
