Kate Middleton marks milestone for mental health service started with Harry, Meghan

Kate Middleton marked a milestone for a mental health service that began with William, Harry and Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, on Wednesday marked a major milestone for the mental health text messaging service that began with Prince William, Harry and Meghan Markle in 2019, People reported.

The Duchess made a special visit to the free mental health texting service 24/7 Shout to record more than a million conversations with people in need; it was started by the two royal couples as part of their Heads Together campaign.

On her visit, Kate, 40, met volunteers, clinical supervisors and fundraisers and thanked them for their efforts to provide free mental health care across the UK.

Kate then took to Twitter to say, “Having met some of the amazing volunteers today to hear their stories and see how they facilitate conversations, it’s obvious how their empathetic approach helps people feel safe, calm and heard.”

“Mental health support and resources across the UK have made significant progress in the last decade. @GiveUsAShout, through their 24/7 text messaging service, has been a great contributor and constant support to children, youth, and adults during their most difficult times,” he added.

Prince William also served as a Shout volunteer counselor in 2020, providing trained support to those in need as a volunteer in crisis situations.
