There’s no denying that kettlebells are a great addition to anyone’s training regimen. These cast iron or steel balls are the perfect training equipment for strength and flexibility training. But the high price of this essential exercise equipment deters many from making the purchase, while for others who spend much of their time traveling, investing in a kettlebell doesn’t make sense, as it’s difficult to travel with the heavy ball.
Thanks to Andy Thomas and Daniel Sheppard, the founders of Kettle Gryp, you can enjoy all the benefits of training with kettlebells without spending too much money or worrying about portability. Thomas and Sheppard will enter ‘Shark Tank’ in hopes of enticing the Sharks – Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John and Robert Herjavec – with their unique product. While we’ll have to wait and see to see if the Kettle Gryp gets the Sharks excited enough to invest in it, in the meantime, you can read all about this unique exercise training accessory here.

What is Kettle Gryp?
Kettle Gryp is a dumbbell rack that can easily turn any dumbbell into a kettlebell. Kettle Gryp is a portable dumbbell adapter that turns ordinary dumbbells into dynamic workouts. Perfect for the home gym, the traveling fitness enthusiast, or the trainer/gym owner with limited space, the Kettle Gryp gives you a complete workout with kettlebells in a variety of weights anywhere you can find a dumbbell,” states the brand’s website.
Some of the unique features of Kettle Gryp include:
Portable: Lightweight and compact, the Kettle Gryp packs easily into a carry-on or backpack so you can take your workout with you.
Adaptable: Kettle Gryp transfers quickly from one weight to another and has been designed to fit most dumbbell handles.
Economic: Kettle Gryp is an affordable alternative to kettlebells
Each Kettle Gryp is made of impact resistant ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic, with quality molded urethane foam inserts and stainless steel hardware. At less than a pound, it won’t significantly affect the weight or feel of the dumbbell, and the design allows for easy mounting and dismounting from one dumbbell to another, making the grip suitable for multiple athletes. While the Kettle Gryp doesn’t completely mimic the action of a real kettlebell (due to the weight distribution in a dumbbell), it can provide many of the same benefits at a fraction of the cost.
Using a Kettle Gryp is pretty simple too. You just need to open the Kettle Gryp handles and place the dumbbell in the foam insert, then close the Kettle Gryp handles around the dumbbell. Finally close the latch and voila, your new training equipment is ready!

Who are the founders?
Andy Thomas and Daniel Sheppard are the founders of Kettle Gryp. “Daniel is president of Pangolin Design Group and co-creator of Kettle Gryp. Originally from upstate New York, he has been a small business owner in San Diego since 1998. He is an occasional volunteer and fundraiser for Make-A-Wish San Diego. When Dan isn’t working on Kettle Gryp, you can find him traveling, paramotoring, or at the gym,” states the brand’s website. “Andy is CEO of Pangolin Design Group and co-creator of Kettle Gryp. An aviation enthusiast, Andy spent 20 years as a United States Marine Corps helicopter pilot. Andy has a passion for fitness and travel, which is why he’s dedicated to bringing you Kettle Gryp.”
What is the cost and where to buy Kettle Gryp?
A Kettle Gryp unit retails for $34.95. You can buy this clever exercise accessory on the brand’s website here or Amazon. The product has received rave reviews from its customers on Amazon, where it currently has an excellent 4.6-star rating. A happy Kettle Gryp customer left the following review on Amazon. “I was a little skeptical of this product, but I was pleasantly surprised! It worked well with my dumbbells. Basically, I wanted to swing with kettlebells. Since my dumbbells are adjustable, I can adjust the weight too. Highly recommend.”
Where is Kettle Gryp now?
Kettle Gryp seems to be a big hit with customers. However, there does not seem to be any information about the development of new models by the brand at this time.
Who will steal the deal?
Mark Cuban could try to seal the deal. Although the sales figures and profit margins of the brand will ultimately be the main deciding factor in whether or not the sharks invest in the business. So we’ll just have to wait and watch to see if the Sharks even make a deal.
