Lebanon brewpub hosts benefit concert to raise money for nonprofit supporting mental health services

LEBANON, Ore.– Barsideous Brewing in Lebanon will host a benefit concert Saturday night to raise money for the nonprofit One2Another.

The organization helps support children, families, and individuals in Linn County struggling with mental and behavioral health, as well as providing community outreach.

“Coming from Albany, there’s a lot of weird stuff going on in this town, so it’s really cool that people are being supported and there are groups like One2Another that want to do that,” said Skeleton Boy musician Nicholas May. “It was really a no-brainer once we knew they existed to partner with.”

Four local bands; Skeleton Boy, Reptile Love Child, the Dreamcasters and Billy and the Kids are scheduled to perform live at the concert.

The musicians told KEZI that they have been performing at canned food drive concerts and it has left an impact on them.

“For me personally and Skeleton Boy, most of our members are from Albany and we don’t get a lot of opportunities to play in Albany,” May said. “This came from talking to one of my friends from One2Another who suggested we do a benefit concert. This is the first time One2Another has done something like this and I think this was a distinctly different benefit show for us because in the past it was like, ‘hey, here’s the concert, bring canned food.’ But we adapted this one so that the organization is the central point of the show.”

In addition to live music, seven prize packages will be raffled off.

“I’ve been playing in Barsideous since I was 19 years old,” said Reptile Love Child musician Justus Humble. “It’s really given us opportunities to really grow on the local scene.”

The cost of admission for the concert is $10 at the door. Canned food donations are welcome.

The musicians told KEZI that they are grateful for the support from the community and hope that people can support a good cause.

“I love our community. I’m so thankful for everyone from Linn County to Salem to Portland to Eugene,” said musician Joshua of Reptile Love Child. “We’ve had so much buy-in and so much safe space to develop and make this really fun and really expressive for everyone.”

The concert starts at 7 pm and ends at 11 pm
