Cronulla Sharks star Nicho Hynes has been praised by NRL fans after giving a rousing speech in his post-game interview.
Hynes and the Sharks secured a 36-12 win over the Wests Tigers, but Hynes’ mind was elsewhere.
Instead, the star running back turned his attention to Paul Green, whose death rocked the rugby league community this week.

“Can I give a quick hello to the family of Paul Green? All of us here at the Sharks are thinking of you,” Hynes said on Fox.
“He was an important part of this club and I just want to pay my respects and my condolences, we are thinking of you.”
Hynes then highlighted the upcoming ‘RU OK’ day, but said more needs to be done for mental health.
“There is a ‘RU OK’ day every year and it’s coming soon, but I think we should have a ‘RU OK’ day every day of the year,” he said.
“We need to think about it some more and spread the mental health message. It is something very important right now.
“Once again our love to you.”

Without regular-half partner Matt Moylan or freerunner Will Kennedy, Hynes was the central fulcrum of everything good about Cronulla’s offense. He ran 23 times for 205 meters (33m after contact) and broke two tackles. As a playmaker, he recorded one attempt assist and two line break assists. He kicked 13 times for 291m.
