Gym goers have been “excited” to return to their local gym, which has reopened after nearly six months.
NR Health and Fitness Club has opened its latest gym on Pinbush Road in Lowestoft.
The Norfolk-based fitness chain took over the old Nirvana gymwho was in charge of Sentinel, after its closure when the company stopped trading in March.
Since then, the site has undergone “major upgrades” with new design, equipment, and facilities.
NR Health and Fitness director Aaron Johnson said: “There was quite a stir when we opened the doors on Monday.
“You could see the community that was here before. There were people hugging in the parking lot.
“It’s nice to get that back. They’re happy to have a gym on this side of the bridge again.”
The Lowestoft Triple A Boxing Club has also returned to the site, where it was previously headquartered.
But the pool will remain closed.
Johnson added: “With rising energy costs and the amount of work required, the time is not right.
“But it is still a possibility in the future.”
