In such a situation, today we will tell you how to identify real and fake candies available in the market. Apart from this, how can one know the truth about adulteration?
How to identify fake or adulterated khoya
1. Identify by color
The color of pure khoya is light yellow or white. If the color of the khoya is too white or bright yellow, there may be a risk of adulteration.
2. The smell will tell the truth
Pure khoya has a natural milky aroma. If the khoya has a bland aroma, it may be adulterated.
3. Checking textures
The texture of real khoya is soft, while adulterated khoya can be tough or sticky. Rubbing it between the fingers will cause pure khoya to break, while adulterated khoya will be sticky.
4. Find out by dissolving it in water
Add some khoya to the water and mix. If the khoya dissolves completely and a white foam or unusual color appears in the water, it may be adulterated.
5. Iodine test
Iodine test can be done to detect adulteration of starch in khoa. Add a few drops of iodine on the khoya sample. If the khoya turns blue, it means it contains adulterated starch.

Take the candy in your hand and rub it a little. If it’s sticky, don’t buy it. Smell the candy, if it looks stale, don’t buy it. If the work on the candy comes off after removing it, then the silver work is not genuine. You can also check the quality of the candies by smelling them.
