Man loses almost 2st in just weeks with easy changes to lifestyle – ‘a life changer!’

Since beginning his weight loss transformation in May 2019, Pete, who runs a flooring business in his hometown of Leicestershire, has lost 10 per cent of his body weight. He has also thrown 11 kg, or almost two stones. How did he do it?

Pete told Express.co.uk he used to be an active young man, playing “a lot of football into his 20s”.

But age affected his weight.

He said: “I went through my 30s and 40s consumed with being the father of my three daughters and building my flooring business.

“Playing futsal just once a week really wasn’t enough, and the only way was for my 36-inch waist.

“I was constantly injuring myself due to being out of shape and overweight, combined with absolutely no food nutrition education.

“My pants started to get tight when I hit 220 pounds.”

At first, Pete found it difficult to change his lifestyle, saying to himself “I need to do something about this”, but explained that “before I knew it I had had another busy week and hadn’t done anything.”

However, that’s when Pete ran into Nick Wardle.

The father-of-three told Express.co.uk: “He was opening his new gym, The Body Transformation Centre, next door to my Loughborough flooring store.”

Pete visited the gym and explained that Nick “wanted to know a little bit about me, my lifestyle and my future goals.”

He continued: “Nick was extremely passionate about his business, which I found contagious, and he understood the importance of nutrition as well as regular physical training.”

Pete signed up to do a six-week goal-based program for £300, which meant that if he reached his goal, he would get his money back.

The program included three training sessions a week and access to “infinite” information on diet and nutrition.

Following Nick’s advice, Pete downloaded the My Fitness Pal app to track his nutrition and calorie intake.

After six weeks, Pete said he was “hooked” and reinvested his £300 into an annual membership, increasing his attendance to five gym sessions a week.

By November 2019, just five months after his initial gym session, Pete had lost 10 percent of his body weight and lost 25 pounds, or just over a stone and a half.

As for diet, Pete told Express.co.uk: “I try to avoid alcohol during the week and avoid eating large amounts of bread, rice and pasta.

“For example, if I have an Indian meal, the rice and bread will be swapped out for sag spinach or a vegetable side dish.

“I don’t eat as much meat as I used to and fish has replaced meat.”

Pete described the weight loss as “life changing”, adding: “I am so relieved to have lost this weight before the lockdown as I know I would have put on considerably more weight which would have caused depression.

“Also, having a different mindset towards exercise and diet helps my overall well-being tremendously.”
