Men of the North will provide mental health programs at Cameco’s Cigar Lake operations twice a month for the foreseeable future.
“We are pleased to announce that through the work we continue to do and the work we have completed, Cameco has taken notice and invited us to host our workshops,” said Men of the North founder Christopher Merasty. “We can promote healthy communication and dialogue with Cameco staff that would benefit their mental health and well-being.”
The first meeting will be held on August 22 and will include an introduction to the men’s support group. Merasty will let participants know what the schedule entails and get a sense of how much interest there is among employees.
Through a partnership with the Prince Albert branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, she hopes the group will be able to offer additional supports and resources.
