Monkeypox: Man in Tamil Nadu With Skin Rash Kept in Isolation


Later, he was found at his residence in Pudukkottai on Saturday and taken to the Medical College Hospital there.

Authorities instructed the person’s family members to self-isolate until a full diagnosis is made.

Hospital authorities told the media that the person did not show any symptoms of monkeypox at initial diagnosis. The doctors said that the rashes found on the skin could be due to some skin ailment.

The doctors also told the media that he was kept in isolation at the hospital as a precaution and that his swab samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for analysis. He will keep it in isolation until the swab sample test report is received from him.
