The Contra Costa County Health Department said these mosquitoes have been found in many areas of the county, including Concord, Walnut Creek and Pittsburgh. Health authorities have alerted the population to take the necessary measures to combat mosquitoes in their homes and surrounding areas, in order to avoid these diseases. According to the Department of Health, no cases of Zika or yellow fever have yet been reported in Contra Costa County, but the presence of mosquitoes increases the risk.
