NHA launches revamped Ayushman Bharat Health Account mobile application – ET HealthWorld


New Delhi: National Health Authority (NHAUnder its master plan Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM(A Revised Ayushman Bharat Health Account)ABHA) Mobile application, according to a statement issued by the NHA on Tuesday.

The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) app, formerly known as the NDHM Health Records app, which is available on the Google Play Store, already has over 4 lakh downloads.

The updated version of the ABHA app has a new user interface (UI) and additional functionality that enables individuals to access their health records anytime and anywhere.

The ABHA mobile application enables a person to create an ABHA address (username @ abdm), an easy to remember username that can be linked to a 14 digit randomly generated ABHA number. The NHA added in its statement that the mobile application enables users to link their health records created on the ABDM compatible health facility and view them in their smartphones.

The application allows digital health records such as diagnostic reports, prescriptions, Covin’s vaccination certificate, etc. to be shared with the consent of the individual through the ABDM network as well as self-uploading of physical health records in the ABDM compatible health locker.

In addition, the ABHA mobile application has new functionality such as edit profile, link and unlink ABHA number (14 digits) with ABHA address. Other functionality such as Face Authentication / Fingerprint / Biometric ability to scan QR codes on the counter of ABDM compatible facility for login and express registration will also be released soon.

Giving detailed information about ABHA mobile app, Dr. R.S. Sharma, CEO, National Health Authority (NHA) said: “The ABHA app will help citizens build their long-term health records. Patients can access their health record in seconds using their ABHA address which will empower them in many ways. This will enable them to save their health history on a single platform and access or share their health records anytime and anywhere without worrying about losing it. This digitization of data exchange will ensure better clinical decision making and continuity of care.
