Shimla, July 29
A member of the Himachal Pradesh State Mental Health Authority, Professor Ajay Srivastava, has alleged that there is no psychiatrist or counselor at the state mental health hospital. He further noted that services such as physical therapy were also not available at the hospital.
In a letter to Chief Secretary RD Dhiman, Srivastava demanded an investigation into the affairs of the hospital. “For the last five months, there is no psychiatrist in the hospital. A psychiatrist from the IGMC visits the hospital once a week. Patients do not receive services like counseling,” Srivastava said.
