Osteoarthritis: One simple exercise to help slow joint degeneration

A healthy amount of exercise can help reduce inflammation, the process responsible for joint destruction with OA.

Phil Evans, Senior Physiotherapist at Urban Body, who was also an Official Physiotherapist at the Commonwealth Games, said: “Movement gets the blood flowing, which is our best and most natural form of anti-inflammatory.”

For osteoarthritis patients, he recommended walking and various other activities.

“Walking is the easiest and most practical way to get healthy movement every day, but bicycling and swimming are also great options,” Evans said.
