Pagabo Foundation launches the Feelgood Games to tackle mental health – FMJ

The charitable arm of national framework provider Pagabo, the Pagabo Foundation, has launched Feelgood Games to encourage action as part of its commitment to support the improvement of mental health within the construction industry.

The fitness initiative aims to get the construction industry moving and highlight the value of exercise in maintaining better mental health.

The foundation is calling for volunteers to sign up, either to spread the word or sign up a team to take on an obstacle course challenge to be held in conjunction with the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum ( UKREiiF) in May.

With the most recent research of the construction industry by the CIOB finding that 26 percent of professionals thought of taking their own lives in 2019, the Pagabo Foundation is based on the goal of empowering all construction employees in mental health first aid so that it will be easier to detect and help those who have difficulties at work.

Jason Stapley, MD at Pagabo and leader of the Pagabo Foundation, said: “We are delighted to fire the starting gun to usher in the Feelgood Games. Raising awareness of mental health is Fundación Pagabo’s key message and this latest initiative will continue to increase our impact.

“We realize that while not everyone enjoys doing the same type of exercise, the benefits that come from any activity are worth encouraging. The team building challenge we have planned during UKREiiF is an ideal opportunity for people from across the industry to get involved and relax for a vitally important cause.

“It takes courage to speak up, but we look forward to engaging with even more business leaders who have a platform to lead by example and engage staff on their journey through gaming. In addition to the final event taking place in Leeds, we urge businesses to document their favorite ways to stay active and share internally and externally.”
