Flesh Eating Parasites: A 21-year-old boy after a tiring day lay down to take a short nap but fell asleep soundly. Wearing contact lenses since 7 years
This incident happened with Mike Krumholz, a 21-year-old youth living in Florida, United States. According to the information, he has been using contact lenses for the last 7 years. It is obviously known that one should not sleep with these lenses on and if this happened earlier, he had to face problems like itching in the eye, redness of the eye or infection to some extent. But this time there should be a limit because only one eye was completely destroyed. It was not easy for Mike himself to believe this. But now he is telling the incident that happened with him to the people through social media as an awareness campaign. So that this does not happen to anyone else who wears contact lenses.
Why did the eyesight go away?
When Mike woke up the next morning, he had pain in one eye. On being shown to the eye specialist, it was found that his eye had been eaten by a very rare parasite, so he could not believe it and after that he showed his eyes to doctors one after the other and also met cornea specialists. When the same feedback was received from 7 doctors, Mike was forced to accept that his eye was really eaten by a parasite.
The doctors told Mike that a parasite called Acanthamoebia keratitis has developed in his eye, which is a carnivorous parasite and due to which the eyesight is completely lost. This parasite ate Mike’s eye while sleeping, due to which the light in his right eye has gone due to this parasite.
