Parvatasana is not for everyone, be aware who should not do it, it may cause harm instead of benefit.

Happy Yoga Day 2024: We all know that practicing yoga is very beneficial not only for physical but also mental health. Doing yoga not only provides mental peace but also relieves many health problems. You have probably noticed that people often practice different asanas depending on their physical ability and problems.

One of these asanas is Parvatasana, also called Mountain Pose. Although Parvatasana has many health benefits, for some people this asana can cause harm instead of benefit.

Parvatasana is a very simple asana, so even if you have just started yoga, you can easily practice this asana. Doing Parvatasana not only reduces obesity but also improves body posture. It also improves blood circulation and is considered very beneficial for women. But some people should still avoid doing this asana. Let us tell you who these people are.

According to yoga guru Lata Srivastava, people who suffer from these conditions should avoid doing Parvatasana. He says that either these people should not do Parvatasana and even if they do, they should do it only under the supervision of a yoga expert.

  1. People who suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome should avoid practicing Parvatasana yoga asanas.
  2. If you have an injury to your wrists, back, hips, neck or shoulders, avoid doing this asana.
  3. If you are suffering from severe stress or anxiety, you should avoid doing Parvatasana. This is because the steps of Parvatasana can increase your body temperature.
  4. If you have a fever, cold or flu, avoid doing Parvatasana.
  5. People who suffer from spinal problems or injuries should not practice Mountain Pose Yoga.
  6. People suffering from frozen shoulder, osteoporosis or arthritis.
  7. People who have been diagnosed with heart problems should also avoid doing this asana.
  8. People suffering from high blood pressure.
  9. If you are sleep deprived or tired, avoid doing Mountain Pose Yoga.

To avoid during pregnancy

Although practicing Parvatasana is considered safe during pregnancy, it can be a little difficult to perform during the last trimester. Therefore, try to do Parvatasana during pregnancy only with the knowledge of a yoga expert.
