Paytm inks pact with Andhra Pradesh govt to drive initiatives in financial inclusion, public health – ET HealthWorld


New Delhi: March 6 (PTI) Digital financial services company One97 Communications, which owns pay brand announced on Monday that it has signed an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to promote initiatives in financial inclusion, public health and cybersecurity. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the Andhra Pradesh Global Investor Summit 2023.

“The agreement aims to promote mutual cooperation in the areas of industrial development, financial inclusion, public health, cybersecurity and financial fraud prevention in the state of Andhra Pradesh,” according to a company statement.

Under the pact, Paytm plans to empower merchants, hawkers and hawkers in Andhra Pradesh to accept digital payments and provide them with access to loans through their lending partners.

“Paytm plans to extend its platform to the Andhra Pradesh government to provide e-government services, which will be conveniently accessible to all users of the Paytm Super App. Furthermore, Paytm plans to empower various departments of the GoAP (Government of Andhra Pradesh) to that accept digital payments from citizens and businesses, thereby improving service delivery for the people of Andhra Pradesh,” the statement said.

In the area of ​​public health, Paytm proposed to collaborate with the state health authority to facilitate seamless OPD appointment booking at government and private hospitals under the upcoming Unified Health Interface (UHI) program.

“As part of its commitment to promote safe and secure digital payments, Paytm plans to make cyber security training for Andhra Pradesh police personnel and launching a joint campaign to raise awareness of cyber security best practices among citizens, particularly those residing in non-urban areas,” the statement added.
