There was nothing but disappointment for anyone hoping to sneak into a Peloton ride during the slack blackout on Tuesday. In an unfortunate moment, Peloton said that he, too, had a number of issues that hampered anyone trying to stream one of his classes.
in platoon status page, it appeared that users were unable to access logins, live classes, on-demand classes, leaderboards, or activate services on Peloton bikes and treadmills. On Twitter, the company said this could also affect users’ ability to access Peloton’s websites. However, the only Peloton site that suffered a major outage is the member profile/training history page. According to fall detector, people started reporting Peloton blackouts around 10 a.m. ET. Peloton has since fixed the issue.
While the outage isn’t necessarily Peloton’s fault, it does highlight one of the pitfalls of connected fitness. No software or connectivity, the expensive hardware you just bought suddenly not so useful. Peloton users on Twitter seem to be taking it in stride, with many opting to use the “Just Run” or “Just Ride” option. That said, as Peloton’s new CEO, Barry McCarthy, featured over the weekendcontent and on-screen experience are the company’s bread and butter.
Of course, Peloton was finally back online. That said, it’s a helpful reminder that you don’t always have to work out with a leaderboard.
We are currently investigating an issue with Peloton services. This may affect your ability to take classes or access web pages.
We apologize for any impact this may have on your training and appreciate your patience. Please check https://t.co/Dxcht2tQB0 for updates
