No burden Heart disease It is growing rapidly and the main reasons for it are unhealthy lifestyle, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, smoking, alcohol consumption and poor sleep routine. Despite some preventive measures, when the disease takes hold, it must be managed with appropriate intervention.

Fortunately, much progress has been made in the field of cardiology, which has helped the cardiologist to make appropriate treatment decisions and is a tool that is very effective in determining the exact method of treatment. Fractional flow reserves (FFR).

Many patients with complex heart disease receive treatment using advanced techniques such as FFR. FFR is a guiding tool used to assess blood flow in clogged arteries around the world and to decide whether or not to place a stent in an artery. Therefore, the FFR gives a score that helps physicians determine treatment strategies, especially in complex cases. This is the first line of assessment in highly developed countries like US and Japan. It has the highest level of evidence and is part of an international guideline.

The field of interventional cardiology is becoming more advanced and culminating towards perfection. Cardiologists are now dealing with challenging cases with precision, and this is possible with the latest imaging technology. Optical compatibility tomography (OCT), which helps in better diagnosis with excellent treatment of heart diseases.

The OCT facilitates viewing of minute details inside the vessel and enables accurate assessment of the obstruction in terms of its extent, nature and location. Doctors can now get a three-dimensional view of a blocked artery with a resolution of 10 microns, which is 20 times better than angiography. OCT also helps in choosing the right stent and how to place it. In fact, after stenting, OCT also helps to validate that it is well extended and properly placed, thus helping to avoid any post-procedure complications. Helps to optimize both FFR and OCT Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and is now an integral part of clinical practice for better clinical outcome.
