A BARROW personal trainer hopes to bring his brand of fitness to members of the community with effects that could last a lifetime.

Andy Taylor, 34, from Ulverston, recently started working at the Barrow Nuffield Health Gym located in Hollywood Park on Hindpool Road, and has used her experience from her sports exercise science education and career in personal fitness to gather some great feedback. of customers from the beginning. in his new position.

Beginning his tenure three weeks earlier, Andy has worked with clients to help them improve their overall fitness, wellness, and mental health.

After an injury, Andy was able to translate his recovery experience into his career as a personal trainer.

He said: “I’ve been employed as a personal trainer for the last three weeks so far and it’s been going incredibly well.

“I am very grateful to work with the team here at Nuffield Health. They offer many things that other gyms do not offer.

“It all started for me in education when I graduated in sports exercise science when I was 18 years old.

“Then I traveled and worked abroad, which led to a few different jobs before I realized what I wanted to do.

“I knew that any race I started in had to be something that I was really involved in.

“Helping people has become something that interests me a lot. She started working for children with special needs and behavioral problems.

“I had a knee injury that required surgery and when I got back into training I was very focused on taking care of myself. I hope I can show other people how they can do the same.”

“Particularly since I’m in rehab, I’m doing a lot of pre-rehab, which is meant to ensure that injuries don’t happen to begin with.

“I’ve worked in sales and business development for the last four or five years, but I never got that job satisfaction, so I started training in my spare time until I thought about doing it for a job.

“In the first few weeks I have received very good feedback and I am very grateful to the team I am working with.

“Other than this, I’m a snowboarding enthusiast and instructor, and I also surf a lot when I can. That also requires me to do a lot of cardio and strength training.”

“I also used to play football, walk, climb and swim.

“With my clients, I work to achieve longevity and build a good relationship between them and fitness so that they really want to do it instead of feeling like they ‘need’ to do it. I’m really looking forward to seeing where this can go.”
