Roorkee: Researchers at IIT-Roorkee, in collaboration with AIIMS-Delhi, have developed an app, ‘swathgarbh‘, to provide real-time prenatal care and medical support to pregnant women. This can be a vital tool for women in rural areas and for those who do not have easy access to doctors or medical facilities, according to the researchers.

This is also the first pregnancy app that provides instant access to doctor’s advice and is clinically backed as well as credible. Provides real-time medical assistance in case of emergency. You can keep track of recommended clinical trials and automatically send personalized notifications to patients.

Both patients and doctors can avail the benefits of the app for free on the Google Play Store. The app can help pregnant women with hospital visits by telling them when they should be done and what tests they should undergo.

Sahil Sharma and Professor Deepak Sharma from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT-Roorkee, along with Professor Vatsla Dadhwal and Professor Aparna Sharma from AIIMS-Delhi, were involved in its development.

Professor KK Pant, Director of IIT-Roorkee, said: “This is a new vehicle in the emerging area of ​​telemedicine in healthcare. It provides real-time medical support to all pregnant women and improves maternal health- fetal”.

Professor Rama Chaudhry, Dean (Research) at AIIMS-Delhi, said: “The SwasthGarbh app will be helpful in providing possible solutions to common problems in pregnancy and fetal lives.”
