Groundbreaking new research by a leading Oxford University psychiatrist has found that many serious mental health disorders can have biological and bodily triggers, which could radically transform the way mental illness is understood and treated.
Evidence is accumulating that a damaged immune system can lead to diseases such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, tics, anxiety, depression and even severe psychosis, so the “million-dollar question” is whether these diseases are therefore treatable.
