On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2022, Froy and the KnitDesign Research Group of the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano will present an innovative and inclusive project aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues, at the next Fabbrica del Vapore del June 6 to 12, 2022.
Starting from the theories of Knit Therapy and through innovative technologies and techniques related to the world of knitting, Froy and the KnitDesign Research Group propose a project that looks forward, involving the visitor in the present and projecting them on an emotional and sensory journey. thanks to knitwear.
The experience aims to promote innovation and its multiple links with the textile world at the same time. The path consists of seven rooms with the aim of making you feel different emotions.

“Speaking of knitwear, we refer to the product of a thread that, by twisting itself, gives life to an object, without ever being interrupted or broken. In the same way, Psycoknit aims to make people meet and reconnect with their emotions”, say the project partners.
“In fact, since it comes from a single yarn, knitwear has the ability to adapt and mold itself into unconventional shapes and sizes, as the project envisions.”
“That is why this technique of infinite potential was chosen to create the Psycoknit path: in fact, knitwear does not imply any type of waste in production, making the most of the raw material that generates it.”
The knitted fabric samples that will be exhibited have been made with state-of-the-art Shima Seiki machinery at Shima Seiki Italy.
