QR-coded cards to have health data of Pronam members – ET HealthWorld

Calcutta: after the pronam app and the Prone call center, Calcutta Police released on Tuesday the Medical Privilege Card (MPC) Project through which the elderly will have smart cards with a QR code.

This card is supposed to contain all the details of the health of each individual. Prone member. Gradually, the project will also cover older people.

“Once the patient, in this case Pronam affiliates, presents this card to the doctor, he or she can scan the QR code and see the entire medical history of the patient. This will help in two ways: one, doctors know the exact ailments of the elderly person instead of relying on caregivers in case of a sudden emergency when he or she is home alone and two, the patient himself will not need to remember all the details of his medication and carry an older prescription,” said an officer from the community wing of Calcutta Police.

Police sources said that regular updates to the card, as the member is diagnosed with an ailment or new medication is prescribed, will be done online through the call center.

Sources said they hope to launch the first card of its kind before Independence Day. “Soon we will begin to accept requests from Pronam members in this regard,” said the official.

Apart from that, the links of all the police stations will try to signal a first-aid kit and other shops near the houses of all Pronam affiliates so that, in case of any need, the owners of the shops are asked to deliver the medicines that the elderly wish.

Are the symptoms of heart attack different in women than in men?

The policemen said they could soon increase the manpower at Pronam’s call center for this purpose. The helpline, 9477955555, which is now run by six counselors at a time, could now see more people answering.

In addition to receiving and handling all incoming calls, counselors will make 300 outgoing calls per day, on a rotating basis, to various members between 8am-11am and 4pm-8pm.
