School Patrol: Music and mental health

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In recent years, many efforts have been made to reach people who struggle in their daily lives.

There are programs that help with drug addiction, alcohol abuse and depression… and now the music industry is stepping up.

The cities of Liverpool and Nashville came together to have an open competition for musical groups and composers from all over the world. Over 20,000 songs were submitted and the top 11 entries came to Nashville to perform. All the music featured a theme inspired by mental health.

The objective of the contest is to fight against the stigma of treating Mental Health.

Finalists were invited to Nashville to perform at Exit In and see the sights.
