CINCINNATI, Ohio — Staying active is one way to help improve mental health according to research from the National Institute of Mental Health. A special event highlighted the talents of those struggling with mental health.

Doing magic is what Frank Kyle said he does best. He showed off his skills at the 5th Annual Mental Health Talent Show.
Founder Chaz Walker, along with the help of other local organizations, organizes the event every year.
“I love the way the audience responds and how they’re surprised and I love making people happy,” Kyle said.
Magic is nothing new to Kyle. He has been doing it for 30 years, hoping to follow in the footsteps of one of the best.
“David Copperfield used to be one of the best magicians in the world when I was a kid,” he said. “He is the one who inspired me, so I went ahead and tried to be like him.”
Going onstage can be stressful for anyone, but Kyle gets a kick out of captivating the audience. He said that seeing all those smiles is the magic trick for his own emotional well-being.
“It just keeps me happy because like I said before, I like to make people happy,” Kyle said. “So it makes me happy to see other people happy.”
Kyle was among more than a dozen people who performed at the talent show. He said that he is grateful to show his skills and lift the hearts of others.
“If I can incorporate making people happy with my magic, it makes me feel good inside,” Kyle said.
