Constipation is the most common disease but it can greatly disrupt the human food cycle. One in five Indians suffers from constipation. It is not only a cause of discomfort throughout the day but also the root cause of many chronic diseases. Prunes: Prunes are a traditional go-to for constipation relief. Prunes also contain sorbitol, a type of sugar alcohol that your body digests poorly. Vegetable Juice: Drinking a long glass of vegetable juice made from your favorite vegetables, mid-morning or mid-evening at breakfast is really good for your constipation. You can combine spinach + tomato + beetroot + lime juice + ginger to make a refreshing juice.
Triphala: Triphala is a wonderful herb. It contains three important herbs, such as amlaki (amla), chlorophyll (harad) and bibhitki (behda), all known to help relieve constipation. Take half a teaspoon in a cup of warm milk / warm water before bedtime.
Oats: Oats are a grain rich in beta-glucans, a soluble fiber with probiotic functions. It also helps feed good bacteria in the gut, helping to regulate intestinal flora and maintain normal bowel function.
Ghee: Ghee butyrate can act as an antidote for constipation. Ghee oil composition acts as a lubricating oil and soothes the inertia of intestinal composition. Ghee in the diet helps in regular and smooth bowel movements.
