CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Fitness is always evolving and Summit Athletic Club stays on top of the latest trends. The club offers what’s next in the industry, as well as the fitness pillars that members know and love. Getting in shape while balancing your busy schedule has never been easier.
Members will soon have even more options to stay active with the addition of a state-of-the-art facility on the west side of St. George. SummitThe fourth location, near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Tuweap Drive, is scheduled to open later in the year. The two-story, 35,000-square-foot facility will be outfitted with new equipment, functional training rooms, child care, dance rooms, a pro shop, smoothie bar, recovery room and much more.
“What makes this one great is that we’ve been able to look at all of our clubs and see what’s successful,” director of fitness Megan Dutson said. “We’ve built it from the ground up and included what our members want.”
Meanwhile, its largest location on River Road is seeing exciting improvements. The outdoor pool space has been completely renovated with a new pool and larger area for families. The renovation is expected to be complete by the end of March, just in time to enjoy the warm spring days of southern Utah.
Summit is also expanding the outdoor lawn area and adding more activities for families, including cornhole. The tennis and pickleball courts will be renovated, and Dutson said they are working to add more space for the gym.
“We want to give members more than what they are using.”
People are much more likely to reach their fitness goals when they enjoy exercising. With a wide variety of activities to choose from, Summit gives members the freedom to find what keeps them motivated, whether it’s running, lifting weights or dancing in fitness classes.
“We’re a one-stop shop,” general manager Cally Peterson said. “We offer all boutique gym styles within one location.”
Peterson said the club has something for everyone, including children and seniors. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, train for a specific fitness goal, or just get more active and meet new people, you’ll find it at Summit. From a spin room and yoga studio to tanning and personal training, the endless possibilities are included in one monthly fee. More than 180 fitness classes are offered each week between the three locations.
Unlike a gym or recreation center, Summit strives to offer fitness solutions. Their trainers and instructors work with members to help them achieve a completely healthy lifestyle.
“We’re lucky to have great people,” Peterson said. “Not only do we take pride in what we offer here, but we also take pride in our staff. I feel that our staff is what sets us apart from others.”
Summit has revolutionized the fitness industry in southern Utah for nine years and continues. Today, their community of members is over 15,000 strong.
“Whatever you’re looking for, to get healthier, to feel better, to enjoy exercise, we’ve got it here,” said Peterson.
Summit keeps getting better to help its members keep moving. Join the movement at any of their three St. George locations – River Road, Bluff Street and Sunset Boulevard – or visit the club website for a three-day complimentary pass, which includes a tour. On Member Appreciation Days, which are the 1st and 15th of each month, non-members can join a family member or friend who has a Summit membership for free.
