The doctors treating him told that this was a very rare case. The challenge was to treat it. Actually, this problem was pericardial effusion. In this condition, a liquid accumulates around the heart. Usually this condition is seen in TB patient. Other causes include viral infections, other infections, blood cancers such as lymphoma, spread of cancer to that site (metastasis) and some autoimmune diseases. To check this, 2D echo was done, even then there was a lot of liquid accumulated in the pericardial space. There is not much space here, so the liquid starts putting a lot of pressure on the heart. Due to the proper functioning of the heart, the blood pressure kept decreasing. Due to this the patient fainted. When the blood supply to the patient’s brain decreased, a condition of cardiac tamponade developed.

The doctors found that the cholesterol level was very high. In such a situation the situation had become more serious. To reduce cholesterol level, took care of food. The liquid accumulated around the heart was removed by surgery and other measures. The patient also continued to lose weight. Lost around 15 kgs. Slowly the condition of the patient got better. He was discharged after about one and a half months.
