Team Police supports Mental Wellbeing with 1TeamActive

TeamActive, an initiative of Team Police, is designed to support the physical and mental well-being of the Police family.
This is the first initiative of its kind supporting the Police and their families and you can be part of it. TeamPolice is partnering with OscarKilo, the national leader for police wellness, to help deliver the physical activity element of the new Policing Compact requirements.
Through the 1TeamActive program, our goal is to provide opportunities, support and education to individuals that will have a lasting effect in changing the lifestyle practices of the entire family. 1TeamActive focuses on those who will benefit the most.
Those who would not normally be involved in sports and exercise and do less than 150 minutes of moderate activity each week, and/or those who feel their mental health has been affected due to police demands. To support them in this initiative we encourage the whole family to participate and make it inclusive.
The scheme has been assessed by Cardiff Metropolitan University and provides evidence-based analysis showing value and benefits against key objectives. The aim is to incorporate a program of sustainable activity within the Police Service that improves the mental and physical well-being of our police officers, staff, volunteers and their families.
What 1TA Means for Participants 1TeamActive ‘introduction days’ will provide an opportunity for candidates and their families to learn, meet others and try different activities in a supportive, fun and encouraging environment.
Following the initial event, there will be 11 weeks of additional activities, including a variety of online resources and training classes to provide flexible and encouraging help to keep participants engaged and more importantly active!
Support will cover all levels of ability to allow for full family participation. There will also be educational aspects on the benefits of an active lifestyle and nutrition. The Police Pact The pact is an acknowledgment by the government, the police and society as a whole, acknowledging the sacrifices made by those who work or have previously worked in our police forces. Its aim is to ensure that officers, staff, volunteers and their families are not harmed as a result of their service in the police and seeks to mitigate the impact this may have on everyday life. This places a legal requirement on the Government to report to Parliament on issues relating to welfare, welfare and police support.
1TeamActive needs your support to make this happen. Would your organization be interested in increasing its social value by helping the police family improve their physical and mental well-being? Contact [email protected] for more information.
