What is FDC?
FDC stands for Fixed Dose Combination. This is such a medicine which is prepared from the composition of two or more claims. Such claims are banned in many countries including America, but such medicines are sold the most in India. However, now the government has banned it. Let me tell you that this is not the first time. Earlier in 2016, the government had banned the manufacture, sale and distribution of 344 drug combinations. This decision was taken on the recommendation of an expert committee. This committee was constituted by the Supreme Court. The committee said that these claims are being sold to patients without any scientific data. The pharmaceutical companies challenged this order. The same FDCs which have been banned now are part of those 344 drug combinations.
