Brain Eating Amoeba: A man went to wash his nose with water and then an amoeba entered his nose and ate his entire brain. In this way that person fell asleep in death. We are not doing this, but this is what the health officials of America have to say. Florida State Health Department officials told that a person has died due to rare brain-eating amoeba. This person was washing his nose with tap water at home, probably in this way he came in contact with this amoeba.

The Florida Department of Health has confirmed that a person living in the state has died due to Naegleria fowleri. Which is commonly called brain-eating amoeba in colloquial language. This is a kind of infection or say infection. The department says that it is suspected that he came in contact with the infection due to washing his nose with tap water. This infection occurs when amoeba reaches the brain through the nose and destroys brain tissue. Because of this, there is swelling in the brain.

Where is this amoeba found?

The thing to note here is that people do not become victims of this by drinking dirty water, rather it is found in clean water. This amoeba can be found in warm or fresh water sources such as lakes, rivers and hot springs, and in soil. Because of this, people fall prey to it in swimming pools or water parks. Health Department spokesman Jay Williams said that several US government agencies are investigating how the infection occurred.

What is Naegleria Fowleri, Rare Brain-Eating Amoeba That Killed a 2-Year-Old in The US?

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that these infections are rare. Between 2012 and 2021, 31 Naegleria fowleri infections were reported in the US. But the extreme drought and heat caused by climate change has made it easier for the amoeba to thrive in water.

What is the problem with the body?

Once it reaches the brain, it causes a disease called amoebic meningoencephalitis in humans. Due to this headache, fever, nausea or vomiting starts. After this, there is a risk of stiffness in the neck, heart attack and coma, due to which death occurs. The CDC says that from 1962 to 2021, a total of 154 cases have been reported in America, in which only four people have been able to beat death.
