A common type of problem is being seen in Delhi-NCR these days. Cases like cough, sore throat, sneezing, watery eyes and wheezing have been reported. Although the summer months have started, doctors say that people are seeing flu-like symptoms as well as allergic reactions. Experts have said that many of these symptoms that people are seeing in the outpatient department (OPD) of hospitals are without fever. Doctors say that all this is happening due to temperature fluctuations.
Same person getting sick again and again
According to the news published in India Today, Dr. Tushar Tayal, Consultant, Internal Medicine, CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram, said that many people have runny nose, mild fever, sore throat and sore throat and wheezing due to Covid, H3N2, H1N1. Can be caused by and common flu virus getting sick again and again and showing viral infection again and again. That’s why all this can happen.
People are facing problems due to pollution
Dr. Tushar Tayal said that we have seen that people are falling ill again and again in the last 2-4 months. When asked, these people tell that they got sick in January and then got infected in the month of May. The reason behind this is the increasing pollution and the symptoms are worsening due to changing weather and pollen. It is causing wheezing and coughing in a lot of people.
Allergy and flu symptoms are similar
According to Dr. Prabhat Ranjan Sinha, Senior Consultant, Aakash Healthcare, New Delhi, flu-like symptoms are also increasing due to flowering of new plants and pollination in the air, which is causing allergies on a large scale. People are coming with only cough without any flu like symptoms or runny nose. These people are blaming the pollen and allergens in the air, which are triggering the allergies. With a variety of factors triggering flu-like symptoms, it becomes difficult to determine the actual cause.
Dr Tushar Tayal said that sometimes it becomes difficult to differentiate between flu and allergy symptoms as not all flu patients come with fever. They may present only with cough and runny nose. Sometimes it becomes difficult to tell whether it is a viral infection or just allergy triggering. Cough or a combination of both. Apart from common cold, cough and sore throat, Dr Sinha explained that other symptoms like enlarged tonsils, headache and in many cases, if it persists for a long time, it can lead to URTI. gets changed. Hence, cases of UTI are on the rise in summer. If patients already have lung infection or bronchitis, they need to be hospitalised.
