1. Brown Rice Pulao

Required Ingredients:

Brown rice – 2 cups

Ghee – 1 tbsp

Cumin – 1 tsp

Cinnamon stick – 1 inch

Cloves – 3

Onion – ½ cup chopped

Sugar – ½ tsp

Green peas – ½ cup

Cauliflower florets – 1 cup

Green beans – ½ cup chopped

Potato – 1

Salt – 2 tsp

Black pepper powder – ½ tsp

Garam masala powder – ½ tsp

How to make brown rice

1. Wash the brown rice and soak it in water for an hour.

2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. When the ghee becomes hot, put rice in the pressure cooker along with water.

3. Add salt, black pepper powder and garam masala to the cooker. Stir well all together.

4. Close the lid and cook the cooker on high flame till 3-4 whistles.

5. Let the pressure release on its own. When the pressure releases, serve your pulao hot.

2. Brown Rice Dal Khichdi

Required Ingredients:

Brown rice – 1/2 cup

Green Moong Dal – 1 cup

Ghee – 2 tsp

Cumin – 1 tsp

Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp

Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp

Cloves – 2

How to make brown rice khichdi

1. First mix brown rice and green moong dal. After mixing, wash and soak both of them for 30 minutes.

2. After half an hour drain the water and keep both of them separately.

3. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin, asafoetida, turmeric powder, and fry cloves on medium heat for a few seconds.

4. After some time add rice-lentil mixture, salt and water. Mix them well and pressure cook till 4 whistles.

5. Let the steam escape on its own. Serve the khichdi hot.

3. Brown Rice Dosa

material required

Brown Rice – 2 cups

Poha or flattened rice – ¼ cup

Chana dal – 2 tbsp

Urad Dal – ½ cup

Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp

salt to taste

How to make brown rice dosa

1. Soak brown rice in water, cover with a lid and keep aside for 4-5 hours.

2. Take another bowl and do the same with urad, chana and fenugreek seeds and cover them and keep them aside for 4 hours

3. Wash and take out the rice and make a paste by putting it in a blender.

4. Wash and take out urad, gram and fenugreek seeds and prepare a paste by blending them too.

5. Mix both the pastes and add salt as per taste, cover and let it ferment for 8 hours.

6. Heat a non-stick griddle, spread the batter prepared on the griddle with the help of a spoon.

7. Sprinkle some ghee over it and let it cook on high flame.

4. Brown Rice Pudding

material required

Brown Rice – 2 cups cooked

Milk – 3 cups

Raisins – 2 tbsp

Sugar – 1/4 cup

Butter – 1 tsp

Ground cinnamon – 1/2 tsp

How to make pudding

1. First of all mix brown rice, milk, raisins, ground cinnamon and sugar in a pan.

2. Cook milk on medium to low flame till it becomes thick and creamy.

3. Let the milk get absorbed completely. Also, keep stirring it in between so that no lumps are formed.

4. Switch off the heat and add butter.

5. Stir the milk well and pour it into a serving bowl.
