How did 45-year-old Rakesh Sharma of Haryana reach the state of brain dead?
The doctor told in a special conversation that he could not revive Rakesh Sharma. That’s why he has been declared brain dead. After convincing the doctors, his family has agreed to donate the organ of patient Rakesh Sharma. Doctors of AIIMS told in a special conversation with ‘Times of India’ that initially when the patient fainted, he was taken to a hospital in Haryana. He was later taken to the trauma center of AIIMS, where after doing a CT scan, the doctors told his condition to be critical. According to the report, the patient had fainted after falling on the floor in his house.
Rakesh Sharma’s health was bad since March 16
Rakesh’s brother-in-law Mahesh Sharma told that Rakesh had complained of severe headache at around 3 am on March 16. After which he was also given medicine but he did not get relief. After which he asked his family to take him to the doctor for checkup. Mahesh said, he fell while trying to stand. Since then he was unconscious.
Rakesh’s brother-in-law Mahesh further says, ‘He did not have any health problem. Everything happened suddenly and no one is able to believe that he is no more with us.” He said that the family may not save him, but at least his organs will save lives of others.
National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization
According to the ‘National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation’ (NOTTO), the donor’s heart, liver and one kidney have been given to AIIMS while the other kidney has been given to Safdarjung Hospital and lungs to Medanta Hospital.
