It is learned that two people from the same family in Pune, father and daughter, are infected with the Zika virus. As soon as this news was announced, health services were alerted. The police officer said blood tests were carried out on five people from the same family. In which the father and daughter’s reports became Zika positive.
Zika virus infection was confirmed in a 46-year-old doctor and his daughter in Pune city, Maharashtra. But his state of health is currently stable. Recently, this person has seen rashes on the body accompanied by fever. After which he was admitted to a private hospital. The medical facility took his blood samples and sent them for analysis to the city’s “National Institute of Virology” (NIV).

A health official of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) said that on June 21, his report confirmed that he tested positive for Zika virus. He told the doctor that he resided in the Erandwane area of the city. The official said that when Zika virus infection was detected in the father, blood samples of five members of his family were taken and sent for testing.
In which it was found that his 15-year-old daughter was also Zika positive. Zika virus disease is spread through the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. Which is also known to spread infections like dengue and chikungunya. This virus was first identified in Uganda in 1947.
PMC Health Department
The official said that after these two cases were reported in the city, the PMC health department started surveillance. However, no other suspected cases have been discovered in the region, he said. But authorities have started taking precautionary measures like fogging and fumigation to prevent mosquito breeding.
Zika virus symptoms are very common. These include red rashes on the body, fever, muscle and joint pain, and headache. Most people infected with the Zika virus have no symptoms.
After infection with the Zika virus, it spreads to the brain and causes a serious problem called microcephaly. This virus mainly spreads among children. He warned that the brains of these children would be weak and therefore there is a possibility that they could suffer from autism. It should be noted that no special treatment or vaccine is given to people infected with the Zika virus. The district doctor said the best solution was to protect yourself from mosquitoes.
