TO develop a more dynamic speed On your downswing, you need to increase your ability to rotate your body through the impact zone. To get started, grab a 6-pound medicine ball and, if you can, find a close friend to help you out.
1. Hold the medicine ball in front of you in your golf stance, then simulate your backswing, spinning with the ball in front of your chest. The key is to maintain the posture of the address while you “swing” to the top.
2. From above, hit the ball to the ground on the target side of the golf ball, so it bounces back to your friend to your left (a wall works too). To add more spin and challenge, bounce the ball toward your friend about 45 degrees behind you. Find the right mix of sets and reps that challenge you, and in no time you’ll build that much-needed drive in rotation speed and power.
