Valerie Bertinelli is feeling optimistic about her fitness journey. The 62-year-old recently posted a video on Tiktok, updating fans on her latest workout: walking on the treadmill.
In the video, the Food Network star takes fans on a walk, celebrating her journey to become more active.
“So just 12 years ago, I did a marathon. But you know what? You have to start somewhere, I’m not embarrassed,” Bertinelli said candidly as he was shown walking at a slow, steady pace on exercise equipment. She captioned the post “Day 1” and ended the clip by saying “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.”
At the end of the video, fans could see the joy in Bertinelli’s expression at the thought of renewing this positive chapter in his life. Many showed their support for him in the comments section, “You inspire me… I’ll have a first day!! She divorced Tom Vitale, whom she married in 2011, and is still grieving the loss of her ex-husband, rocker Eddie Van Halen, who died of throat cancer in 2020. Despite all of this, Bertinelli has struggled to be honest about what she’s going through, particularly her weight fluctuations. “I’m still holding on to this weight because it protects me because I’m going through a lot of challenges,” he said in the past.
