Volley Australia has partnered with mental health organization Black Dog Institute to create a one-of-a-kind Mullet Shoe with all proceeds going to support mental health.
Some may have thought the new product was an April Fools’ Day prank, but Volleys has confirmed that their Mullet Volleys are available for pre-order with 100% of profits being donated to charity. Volley Australia announced on their social networks, “Now that April Fools is over and all the jokes are over, it’s time for us to get serious and talk about mental health.”
The product description on their website says:
“Did someone say this is a mullet shoe?! No this is not a joke, our MULLET VOLLEYS have landed. We have partnered with the Black Dog Institute to support Mullets for Mental Health with 100% of the proceeds from the shoe being donated.” to charity. A shoe the world has never seen. Show your support #MulletsforMentalHealth. This shoe is a limited edition with limited stock available.”
The limited edition version of their Heritage High shoe comes with a removable velcro mullet so those who can’t grow a mullet can wear one in their shoes. Next best, right? The mullet can be styled, cut, colored and customized however you like!
By partnering with the Black Dog Institute, proceeds from the shoes will go to their Mullets for mental health initiative that encourages people to grow smooth for the month of September. With suicide being the leading cause of death among Australians aged 15-44, approximately 60% of Australians who report symptoms of mental illness do not actually seek help. The money raised will go towards research on the early detection, prevention and treatment of common mental health disorders.
The limited release Volley shoe is available to purchase at your website for $84.99 and is expected to release on April 15, 2022.
